For me, scouting was always also a framework of motivation. Motivation to do stuff, motivation to oppose against stuff, even to lead a revolution. A lot of times it was motivation to do stuff i really didn’t like to do but i wished to meet my responsibilities and so i did stuff nonetheless, sometimes i did better, sometimes i did worse. Anyhow there was always a lot to reflect on. I challenged myself, took over control and learned about my laziness and anxieties.
I totally agree with you, NOT providing the answer – think: not motivating others – but providing a framework, which inspires people to find their own motivators and to reflect on them deliberately – that is what influences one’s life long term.]]>
